APC bent on punishing Saraki, Dogara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is still going ahead to punish the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and its erring lawmakers who voted against the party’s consensus candidates in the just concluded election of the National Assembly principal officers, reports Punch. The party, however, said whatever disciplinary action it will take against them will follow due process. The party reaffirmed its position shortly after an emergency meeting of its National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja. The party said the errant lawmakers would be notified about their alleged offences and given an opportunity to respond. Read more at Punch.

Liverpool sign Bolton keeper Bogdan

Liverpool have signed Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on a free transfer, the Premier League club said on Friday. The 27-year-old Hungary international is out of contract at Championship side Bolton and will join Brendan Rodgers's side on July 1, Liverpool said on their website. Bogdan becomes Liverpool's third signing of the close season following the arrivals of midfielder James Milner from Manchester City and Burnley striker Danny Ings.Liverpool boss Rodgers has been looking for a goalkeeper to compete with Simon Mignolet after second choice Brad Jones was released following the expiry of his contract.
